Elizabeth Lyle has been
channelling her incredible artistic and creative ability into making
superb award winning cakes for over ten years, building a reputation
for producing some of the finest cakes in the UK. Each Elizabeth Lyle
creative Cake is handmade to order, making every one individual and
unique, ranging from classic wedding to unconventional imaginative
designs.
From early on Elizabeth had a fascination with both art and cake making
and the fusion of the two began in Brighton where she studied at a
cordon bleu style French cookery course and won prizes for her cake
creations. After spending time in Canada she returned to England and
participated in a cookery course at Raymond Blanc's hotel, Le Manoir
aux Quat' Saisons were so impressed with her work that she is now
one of the designated people to make cakes for their clients. Her
many notable achievements include winning 'Cake of the Show' at an
International Sugar Craft Guild show.
Elizabeth decided to turn her passion for making cakes into her profession
and Elizabeth Lyle Creative Cakes was born. Her portfolio of clients
includes, amongst others, TV and publishing companies, Chiddingstone
Castle, the exclusive Meridian Hotel in Piccadilly, Claridges, Leighton
House and top London caterer, Bovingdons.
Elizabeth created a stunning cake for the launch of the ITV children's
series 'Watership Down' which was attended by Steven Gately from Boyzone,
Richard Briars and Jane Horrocks who created the voices for the characters.
The cake later appeared at a party for children at Great Ormond Street
Hospital. She has also created cakes for the British Olympic Equestrian
team, the book launch of 'The Tamworth Two' pigs, and the 25th wedding
anniversary of royal corsetieres Rigby and Peller she designed a cake
covered with carefully crafted items of lingerie! Most recently Elizabeth
created a wedding cake for a couple who were both deep sea diving
instructors and met in the Red Sea. The cake was designed to look
like a coral reef complete with turtles, dolphins, sting-rays and
numerous kinds of tropical fish.
Elizabeth is a perfectionist and her acute attention to detail combined
with her use of finest quality ingredients has made her one of the
country's top cake makers. As well as providing classic fruit and
Belgian chocolate cakes, Elizabeth also makes allergy free cakes that
are ideal for both adults and children with special dietary needs.
